The Little Free Library Now In Bellingham

Little Free Library Now in Bellingham

The Little Free Library has made it to Bellingham in at least 2 locations I know of.   One on Mill Ave and 17th St and one near Fairhaven Park on Chuckanut Drive.  I picked up a few good books there this week, one was a recommendation from a reader walking by while I was there.

A Little Free Library is a book borrowing box placed on private property and cared for by the owner.  Readers are welcome to take a book and return it later or leave a book.  The boxes are unattended and run on the honor system. Both of the ones I’ve seen are beautifully crafted.

The Little Free Library is a worldwide movement seeking to:

  • Promote literacy and the love of reading
  • Build  community
  • Build more than 2500  libraries around the world
